As I write this, I am aware that some will be offended, because the Bible does say that there is only one God. “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me." Exodus 20: 2 - 3 "Jesus answered, 'It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.' Deuteronomy 6: 19 and Luke 4: 8 While all this is true, I cannot and will not go against my Lord Jesus Christ or the Psalmist: "Jesus answered them, 'Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are gods? If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be set aside— what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son?" John 10: 34 - 36 "A psalm of Asaph. God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the “gods”: How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’ But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler.' Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance." Psalm 82 In the sense that all of the mini gods are attached and working through the one source, yes. We are all, those of us who are amongst the mini gods, attached to and working through what Jude 1: 25 calls in the King James Version, "the only wise God." "To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." Jude 1: 25 Yes. The Bible is right. We should worship only the one. I am an unreservedly devout Christian whose faith and obedience has been tested throughout the years. I will never renounce Christianity. Yet, as Christians deny commonly the notion that Christians are gods, I see a different truth intertwined throughout the Bible and almost hidden in plain sight. The Psalmist says that there are multiple gods. Jesus Christ agrees with him. Jesus Christ quotes the Psalmist. Both these key points, of there only being one true Almighty God, and his gods also existing who remain subject and obedient to him at all times, can both simultaneously be true. Jesus Christ was the "first begotten", but we are given the adoption as sons. If you look further into scripture, a son of God is a type of god! "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God." John 1: 12-13 "Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." "How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3: 3-5 It is noteworthy that there is a certain qualification to this divinity. One has to be a born again believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. We have the mind of God. "This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2: 13-16 As Saint Paul said, "In my judgement, she is happier if she stays as she is - and I think that I too have the Spirit of God." "A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord. In my judgment, she is happier if she stays as she is—and I think that I too have the Spirit of God." 1 Corinthians 7: 39-40 To be born again, and to have received the spirit of the living God, is to have the judgement of a god. Stop doubting yourself. --------------- I believe that God wants me to challenge those who feel spiritually guided to walk away from the person who has their heart. This could be walk away physically and fully as in to pack your bags. Or it could be a very private decision. No longer chase, no longer hold out, and put yourself back on the dating market. Whatever it is, God, I believe, has something to say. And this something is going to help you heal. Write it down. Write down your reasons. Amen. --------------- I had a situation that I believe God wants me to talk about. A man I liked and another man had fallen out. I was put in a situation where I felt like Person A (the man I liked) was demanding that I give up talking to Person B. Although I really liked Person A, and was willing to do a lot of things for him, (Lets not say "I would do anything for love" because Meatloaf rightly established that we can't in his song, "I would do anything for love." And it is also the case that we say, "Within reason" at the end of our sentence.), I felt like I was being spiritually guided to not cut off contact with Person B. Then, extraordinarily, I was being informed by God of the following exciting revelation. I had led, wrongly, Person A to believe that I had a dimmer view of Person B than I actually had. The betrayal was not that I wouldn't cut off Person B. The betrayal was to give a certain impression and then to not follow through. --------------- I will be available for telephone consultations and prayer sessions from tomorrow for all those who purchase my products. EPHESIANS 4: 11 - 16 "Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” MARK 1: 14 - 15 "Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." ACTS 2: 38 "In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ ” Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." MATHEW 3: 1 - 11 "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent" ACTS 17: 30 I think that it is really important for everybody to have their own relationship with God. I believe that the best way to do this is to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. As members of Christ's body, we all have our part to play. We can all help one another. God raises up apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. He is, by doing so, equipping all members of the body of Christ. --------------- Outsmart The Gaslighter Prelude I used to have a friend who turned "weird", for want of a better description. He began to become abusive towards me and other Christians. He seemed to have become disturbed. He didn't tell me what the problem was though. It was something in his own mind with regards to Christians, but that wasn't true of me. It got so bad that I had to come away from him. I think that sometimes you have to walk away. It isn't about you, but about their own personal needs at that time. Their need to gaslight you, as part of their perception as belonging to a group and how they perceive that group of people, has nothing to do with you. You don't have to be a part of their delusion. Walk away. Allow them. It is healthy to allow others their deeply ingrained psychological needs.
